Lisari Edirisinghe | 2026 SURF Participant

Lisari Edirisinghe is a sophomore majoring in computer science at Illinois, with research interests in biomedical imaging, clinical informatics, and personalized medicine. She volunteers at the Crisis Nursery in Urbana, Illinois, a nonprofit that supports local families during times of need, where she provides care and supervision for young children and leads play and enrichment activities. At Mayo Clinic, Lisari will work with Dr. David Holmes and Dr. Dennis Shung on graph analytics and AI to model patients, gaining her first intensive experience in machine learning as she prepares for a career as a physician-scientist focused on applied machine learning and clinical informatics research.
